WANA HEY didn’t start with a business plan. It beg WANA HEY didn’t start with a business plan. It began as a song. Now that the IG account has officially shifted to @wana.hey, it feels like the right moment to tell the story behind the name. “Wana Hey” by @aguilareal.music was the first song I learned when I started reclaiming my voice after everything in my life felt like it was falling apart. I didn’t know why that song chose me. I didn’t even know what the lyrics meant. I just knew it moved something huge inside me. Months later, when I was making chocolate in my kitchen and the vision for this cacao kept getting louder, my wildly intuitive friend @jasmin.gardens said: “Have you considered calling it WANA HEY?” YES. That’s it. And when I later translated the lyrics, it all clicked: this song is about love’s capacity to heal everything. The phrase “WANA HEY” doesn’t have one fixed meaning, but it echoes across mythologies and languages: 🌀In Quechua, WANA means to weave. (Quechua is an ancestral language of the Andean lands of Peru, the same lands where WANA HEY cacao is grown). 💨In English, HEY is a call across realms - a greeting from the unseen. WANA HEY is a bridge. Between ancient memory and embodied devotion. Between your heartbeat and the song of the cacao spirit. On my birthday this year, I got to sit on the floor of @julietaferrero_aguilareal’s temple space, singing Wana Hey with her - the woman who carried this song into the collective - while nibbling on @wana.hey ceremonial chocolate. A dream come true. A weaving across realms. Thank you, Ixchel Prisma, for writing and sharing this beautiful song. The song came first. The remembering came next. The chocolate came through after. Now that remembering lives inside every @wana.hey spiral and every rose - guiding you back home to yourself. 🌀🌹
